Code 3 for the overturned vehicle on the freeway.
Traffic’s backing up as we approach; my hopes for it being unfounded disappear. An overturned car is taking up the second and third lanes from the left. We beat both police and fire there. There are several other cars that stopped to help. One man is even directing traffic around the stricken car.
We start walking up towards the car, and another man greets us. I ask him if the occupants are still inside the car.
“I think that’s her.” He points to a girl holding up her camera phone, taking pictures of her overturned car as she circles it.
