Thermometer

Code 2 for the unknown.

A teenage mother says her toddler has a fever and wants us to take his temperature. Nothing else. Doesn’t want to go to the hospital. We don’t carry thermometers because, well, they’re not exactly emergency medical equipment. If we did carry them, I might have taken his temperature while biting my tongue and trying like hell to keep my mouth shut about the 911 call.

Not that I said anything anyway; it’s easier to be quiet.
