Ice Ice Baby

Code 2 for someone who punched a wall.

It’s drywall.

“He punched the wall! We were arguing! You need to check his vital signs!”

“I’m fine. I don’t know why they called.”

“You wanna go to the hospital?”

“No, no, I’m fine. I can see just see my doctor or something. He’ll take care of it.”

“Sounds like you have the right idea.”

“But he could have a broken hand! You need to take him to the hospital to get X-rays!”

“Ma’am, we’re not here for you, and he’s 30 years old. Please be quiet.”

“You need to go to the hospital!”

“He doesn’t need to go to the hospital. Sir, do you want to go to the hospital?”

“Nah, I’m fine. But she’s got a bruise on her hand though when she tried to hit me. Can you give her an ice pack?”

“Do you want a cold pack?”

“No, I’m fine.”

“Can you give her one anyway?”

“<Sigh> Sure.”

“Look at this, why is my hand like this? Is that bad? Did my vein busted?”

“It’s a little bruise.”

“Here’s a cold pack. You know, when this stops being cold, do you have an ice-maker in your freezer? You can just use ice, you know? You have ice?”

“You must think we’re a bunch of wacks.”

“You have no idea, ma’am.”
