Code 3 for shortness of breath.
Fire is walking out with a woman in her late 30s who clearly is the patient. She climbs in the ambulance.
I indifferently but politely ask her 15-year-old daughter what happened.
“I don’t know. I was in my room and my grandma busted in my door saying that my mom called 911. I guess she had an anxiety attack watching a movie.”
She says she started having an anxiety attack while watching The Stoning of Soraya M. I am certain that this is an intense movie – like how all those people were supposedly passing out left and right watching The Passion of the Christ – and there is absolutely no doubt that some religious countries still stone women, but please… there is no way EMS should be in any way involved in your movie-watching endeavors.
The ED kicked her out an hour later.
“Oh, yeah, that stupid bitch. Discharged.”

I might say fanatically religious countries, not just religious countries. The Vatican is a religious country, but they don’t encourage stoning women. Or anyone else for that matter. For that matter Israel is also a religious country and women have all sorts of rights there too.
Just sayin’, as the saying goes.
