As you all know, we go to bullshit wrecks all the time. Everyone’s got more neck pain than scratches on the bumpers. While it’s difficult for investigators – law enforcement or insurance companies – to disprove someone’s injury, we all know who’s really legit and who’s not. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out. But, since we’re professionals, we usually bite our tongues and say nothing. A knowing nod to each other here and there suffices. It’s our secret language.
So I have to say I was a bit amused when an officer said out loud the other day, I-don’t-give-a-fuck-who’s-around style, “Ma’am, I want to remind you that it’s a crime to file a false claim of injury. Here’s your tow card.”
