“I’m just an ambulance driver.”

I say this all the time, half-seriously, usually to deflect such silly questions from the ED staff about patients and their moronic tendencies as why they called 911 for their lame complaints or why I brought them to their hospitals (as opposed to Red Lobster, I guess) for said lame complaints.

“They tell us what hospital, we drive them. It’s like a taxi.”

But we do not like it when anyone calls us ambulance drivers.

  1. I think people don’t see the pressure you are facing while “simply” driving this ambulance. You have lives to take care of and sometimes you must hurry to the hospital without being the source of another accident.

Definitely, people should think twice before calling you an ambulance driver!
